The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Dennis Francis, held a coordination meeting with H.E. Mr. Nicolas de Rivi¨¨re, Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations and the President of the Security Council for the month of January 2024.
Ambassador de Rivi¨¨re briefed the President on the programme of work of the Security Council during France¡¯s upcoming Presidency, noting that it will be the 68th time France is presiding over the Council.
President and Ambassador de Rivi¨¨re discussed the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, war against Ukraine and the security situation in Haiti.
Both agreed on the importance of coordination between the Presidents of the two bodies.
The meeting took place at the President¡¯s Office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on 14 December 2023.
