What is your main area of work with youth?
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Youth Office exists to make youth leadership impossible to ignore. We amplify young people¡¯s voices where decisions are made, advocate for youth-led solutions that change lives, and connect them directly with leaders and institutions, ensuring their ideas don¡¯t just inspire conversations, but drive local, regional and global action.

Why are young people key to building lasting peace?
Peace doesn¡¯t live only in treaties - it¡¯s in classrooms, communities, online networks and neighborhood streets. Young people carry the creativity and courage to bridge divides, challenge injustice, and rebuild trust. Without their vision and leadership, peace cannot take root, nor be sustained.
What¡¯s the one key thing that young people are doing today that gives you hope for peace?
They are rewriting what peace means. For this generation, peace isn¡¯t just the absence of conflict - it¡¯s the presence of dignity, climate justice, mental wellbeing, and opportunity.
We see young leaders creating podcasts that dismantle hate speech, designing apps for refugee education, and organizing interfaith dialogues in fragile communities. This expanded vision of peace, rooted in daily life and shared humanity, gives us hope that the future will be more inclusive, resilient, and just.
If you could bust one myth about youth, what would it be?
Myth: Young people are only the ¡°leaders of tomorrow.¡±
Truth: They are already leading today - shaping climate agreements, innovating in tech, and brokering peace in their own communities. Dismissing them as ¡°future leaders¡± blinds us to the bold, transformative leadership they are already bringing to the present and neglects the basic fact that they need to act today to build everyone's future.
