In March 2016, the popular CBS drama Madam Secretary filmed scenes at the United Nations for an episode entitled Ghost Detainee. In the episode, the title character, played by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵICEF Goodwill Ambassador T¨¦a Leoni, delivers her first speech to the United Nations General Assembly condemning a terrorist group. Following the speech, she catches up to the Russian Foreign Minister in the Visitors' Lobby where they discuss forming a coalition against the group. The episode was seen by more than 9.5 million viewers in the United States.
CCOI's Role:
CCOI provided feedback on the script, secured permission for Madam Secretary to film at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Headquarters, coordinated the negotiation of a location agreement between the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and Eye Productions Inc., and made all logistical arrangements for the on-location filming.
