The Gaza Strip
- ?reported on 5 February that Palestinians returning to the Gaza Strip through the newly reopened Rafah crossing from Egypt have faced a consistent pattern of ill-treatment, abuse, and humiliation by Israeli forces, raising serious concerns about coercion, discouraging Palestinians from exercising their right to return to areas they were forced to leave, and further contributing to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
- On 5 February, Israeli forces reportedly demolished an Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA school in Jabalia in North Gaza using explosives. The building, which lay behind the expanded ¡±Yellow Line¡± of Israeli military control, was part of a compound of six schools and was the last remaining one; with its demolition, the entire compound has been destroyed. Between January and February, eight Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA schools in the militarised area were reportedly demolished by Israeli forces.
- On 7 February, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA reopened the Bureij Health Centre in eastern Middle Area, which had been closed since 7 October 2023. The centre is now providing comprehensive primary healthcare services, and served approximately 175 patients on the first day. Patient numbers are expected to expand significantly in the coming days.
