Second Civil Society Town Hall on Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80: Building a shared path forward

Under-Secretary-General for Policy Guy Ryder briefed Civil Society on progress across the three workstreams of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 Initiative, taking stock of where it stands and what comes next.

USG Ryder outlined a structured Civil Society Engagement Plan to ensure participation is meaningful, consistent, and accessible across work packages, supported by clear timelines, entry points, and co-designed engagement opportunities, including a flagship event around the High-Level Political Forum in July.

Key transparency tools were also highlighted, including the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ80 Actions Dashboard and updated FAQs shaped by Civil Society input.

Civil Society partners emphasized priorities such as inclusive participation, co-creation, localization, and stronger regional representation, ensuring local actors, crisis-affected communities, and voices from the Global South (including LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDS) help shape reform.

Participants underscored the need to embed peace and security, disability inclusion, and human rights as cross-cutting priorities, while protecting core mandates and strengthening the multilateral commitments made at the Summit of the Future.
