Phil\u00e9mon Yang, will conduct his first official travel to the Republic of Korea and the People\u2019s Republic of China, from 28 October to 3 November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>These two official visits will underscore the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u2019s unwavering commitment to strengthening global cooperation amidst evolving global challenges.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Republic of Korea, Seoul, (28 -30 October 2024)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>President Yang will attend the annual meeting of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCPGA) which takes place in Seoul on 29 to 30 October 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCPGA is hosted annually by the Republic of Korea, demonstrating its commitment to international diplomacy and multilateralism.\u00a0This annual meeting provides a platform for discussing pressing global issues and fostering cooperation among nations.<\/p>\n<p>The President of the General Assembly will deliver a keynote address at the opening segment of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCPGA and will advocate for inclusive and impactful multilateralism with the United Nations at its centre.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, the President of the General Assembly will meet H.E Han Duck-soo, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea and H.E Kang In-sun, the 2nd\u00a0Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.<\/p>\n<p>He will also undertake a familiarization tour of the Demilitarized Zone between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea.<\/p>\n<p>He will be accompanied by his Special Adviser and his Special Assistant.<\/p>\n<p>The costs of the visit are borne by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the OPGA Trust Fund.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>People\u2019s Republic of China, Beijing and Hubei Province (30 October- 3 November 2024)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The President of the General Assembly\u2019s visit to the People\u2019s Republic of China on 30 October to 3 November 2024 seeks to place a spotlight on the priorities of the 79th\u00a0session of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly and the important contribution of\u00a0China\u00a0to the work of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ.<\/p>\n<p>In Beijing, President Yang will hold bilateral meetings with H.E. Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People\u2019s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, the People\u2019s Republic of China and Mr. Wang Zhonglin, Governor of the Hubei Province, the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n<p>The President will also participate in a roundtable dialogue with youth representatives at the Tsinghua University and emphasize the meaningful role of young people in shaping global governance.<\/p>\n<p>He will visit the Three Gorges Dam, the world\u2019s largest hydroelectric project and the <u><a
